Research Grants in "Food Security: Valorization of African Food Sources" 2026
The School of Advanced Studies on Food and Nutrition launches a selection procedure for the awarding of two Research Grants for the project entitled "Food Security: Valorization of African Food Sources" lasting 10 months, from April 2026, to be carried out at the University of Parma.
The project "Food Security: Valorization of African Food Sources" has been created in order to promote opportunities for cooperation with international higher education institutions and to provide researchers with opportunities to pave the way to new research questions and to define new application contexts. The aim of the research project is the valorization of African food sources, in order to improve their functionality in technological, sensory, nutritional, microbiological, safety and authenticity terms.
Applicants must submit a project idea for the valorization of African food resources, to be developed in two or more of the following disciplines: food technology, human nutrition, food microbiology, food safety, food inspection, and food hygiene. Selection will be based on the evaluation of the project idea, academic record, and motivations expressed by the applicants. The selected candidate will carry out their research at one or more laboratories at our University for the duration of the fellowship.
Theme of the Research Project is the valorization of african food sources to improve their functionality in terms of technological/sensory/nutritional/microbiological/safety and authenticity.
Apply if you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the food field obtained, or you are a PhD student, in one of the following Universities with which the University of Parma has active collaboration agreements:
