Award for Best Thesis "Parma UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy” - 2024

For the year 2024, the winner of the award for best thesis "Parma UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy", has been work submitted by Dr. Daniele Catanese, entitled "B2B through the Short Supply Chain and High Quality Restaurants in Parma".

Dr. Catanese graduated at the Master's degree course in Management of Quality Food Systems and Gastronomy of the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Parma.

On its work Dr. Catanese analyses the agri-food sector of the Parma region through a specific lens: sustainability in its three dimensions—economic, environmental, and social. The primary goal is to create a system of indices that measure companies' contribution to the Ho.Re.Ca. sector to the sustainable development of the area. These indices provide a concrete tool to assess their practices and encourage continuous improvement. The work fits within the broader framework of local development and enhancement of the territory, seeking to demonstrate how an integrated and sustainable approach can generate positive effects on a local scale.
